London Bay Development Group has requested cancellation of its upcoming hearing with Fort Myers Beach Town Council on Aug. 5, 2026, regarding 6200 Estero Boulevard, the former Outrigger Beach Resort property. As part of this request, London Bay informed the Town of Fort Myers Beach on July 29, 2026, that it intends to pursue a development order for the property under Florida’s Live Local Act.

The action follows more than two-and-a-half years of planning, community outreach and revisions through the town’s traditional entitlement process. Throughout that process, London Bay met with stakeholders, town staff, appointed and elected officials, held public meetings and repeatedly refined the project in response to community and Town leadership feedback and requests.

From the beginning, our objective has been to aid significantly in restoring the long-term economic health of Fort Myers Beach while transforming a property that has remained vacant since Hurricane Ian. We invested much time and resources in developing a proposal that reflected community input and addressed concerns raised throughout the review process.

Following LPA and further discussions, we have carefully evaluated the property’s existing development rights and available options as a matter of by right. It has become clear that the current entitlement process no longer provides a viable path to an economically feasible project. As a result, we have concluded that pursuing development under the Live Local Act represents the most practical path forward.

London Bay remains committed to Fort Myers Beach and appreciates the time, input and support provided by residents, stakeholders and Town officials throughout the process. We believe this decision provides the clearest path toward bringing much-needed investment back to this important property and contributing to the continued recovery of Fort Myers Beach.
