The History
Both the Outrigger and Charley’s sustained catastrophic damage during Hurricane Ian. We know how difficult the last year has been for Fort Myers Beach and are honored to play a role in rebuilding this vibrant town.
London Bay Development Group recognizes the deep historical significance of the Outrigger Beach Resort and Charley’s Boathouse Grill. These beloved institutions have been an integral part of Fort Myers Beach for years, and we are committed to preserving their legacy. As we embark on this exciting journey, we carry with us the memories and stories that have made this place special and look forward to recreating this historic setting for Fort Myers Beach residents and visitors with new opportunities for recreation, dining and relaxation.
The Vision
London Bay has called Southwest Florida home for the last 33 years, with roots in Fort Myers and extending to Naples and Sarasota. We are deeply committed to this region as evidenced by our most recent development of Grandview at Bay Beach; the first new residential tower built on Fort Myers Beach in the last 15 years. We’ve worked closely with the town and community members over the last several years to bring this significant project to life, creating nearly 400 jobs during construction. We aim to bring this same collective approach to future planning for the Outrigger property.
Our vision for the Outrigger Beach Resort and Charley’s Boathouse properties is rooted in collaboration with the community. We’ve engaged in early conversations with community leaders and received valuable input from residents who envision a revitalized beachfront. This property has long been a gathering point for the community, and we aim to create new spaces that will complement the Fort Myers Beach community.
Our goal is to create a place that individuals and families can enjoy for years to come, preserving the island’s charm while bringing new opportunities and vitality to the community.
